Yay!!~

now dat one paper is over.. i can update on wads been going on in my life!~~ (not in any order)

Watched happy feet..
turned out NOT to be find your heart song via a different means,
but supposed to mean everyone has his or her own purpose in life, even though that person may seem totally weird and different..

some pple are happy in their own way,
if their 'happiness' is not bothering you,
why bother bothering about how they get their 'happiness'?

bought a new urban male shirt..
and rafeal said it looked like a 10 dollar pasar malam shirt..
rafeal just has no taste..

'threatened' the new urban male shopkeeper with 'i study biz law ok!' when he tried to say 'i think the shirt wouldn't shrink if u wash it..'
(i told him i wouldn't buy the shirt if it shrinks upon washing)

been 'living' in the library for the past few days..
turns out that the people in the library are consistently the same few people..
lol
always see a couple of familiar faces here and there..


managed to balance my balance sheet for the FA paper.. (though the figure was off by 30)
managed to get the income statement rite!!!~~ (wooohooo!!)
almost manage the cash flows, budden missed out on the bank overdraft..
i think quite an acheivement, considering i onli studied for a week plus plus for the exam..
before dat, nothing done on FA at all!!!!
rite now, i wanna thank the makers of the FA 'tys' which really helped my studying alot, and esp the 'after sales service support' and it was kinda fun mugging with them in the library oso.. sometimes good friends do make studying fun!! =D

sometimes..
stuff that work everyday, like a car engine,
it just breaks down..
without any rhyme or reason..
like communication

you know?

there are 2 parts to effective communication:
1)effective message sending
2)effective message receiving

as u can see.. parts 1) and 2) are to be done by 2 people in a conversation as and when the roles are reversed.

under effective message sending, there are 5 parts:
i) Develop rapport:
-It is to put the receiver at ease. This step is usually showered with alot of small talk, as it helps to prepare the receiver to receive the message
ii) State communication objective:
-Begin on what you want to acheive at the end of the conversation.
iii) Transmit your message:
-State expressly what is to be done, instructions, deadlines, information, or requests.
iv) Check the receiver's understanding:
-get feedback from the receiver on whether your true intended information has been properly received.
v) Get a commitment and follow up:
- If the aim of communication is to inform or express feelings, a commitment is not needed. However, others will require some kind of feedback from the receiver if the task can be completed by a certain date or time.


Under the message receiving process, there are 3 parts:
i) Listening:
-pay attention to the speaker, be receptive to the speaker
-avoid distractions:
don't play around with other stuffs
-staying tuned in:
don't let your mind wander, do not tune out the speaker just becos he/she is talking about something u disagree on.
-not assuming and interrupting:
do not assume u know what the speaker is going to say and jump in and interrupt. also, do not jump to ur own conclusions without listening to the whole message.
-watching non-verbal clues:
try to read the body language of the speaker, sometimes the speaker may say something but he really doesn't mean it that way.
-ask questions:
whenever u feel confused, ask the speaker what he/she really means.
-take notes:
if u need to.
-conveying meaning:
let the speaker know u are listening attentively by using 'ic' 'i understand' 'uh huh' etc, or nodding of head, leaning slightly forward to show interest.

ii) Analyzing:
analyzing is the process of thinking about, decoding and evaluatingthe message. poor listening occurs because people speak at a rate of 120 words per minute, yet they can listen at a rate of over 500 words per minute.
-think: listen actively by thinking. organise, summarize, review, interpret positively
-wait to evaluate until after listening. listen to the whole message before evaluating, because if u listen and evaluate at the same time. base your evaluation on facts rather than on stereotypes and generalities.

iii)Checking understanding:
This is the part where the receiver gives feedback to the sender on his/her understanding.
Paraphrase the message to show the sender that u have received it entirely and correctly. this will also allow the sender to correct anything that u have misunderstood.


so after that long lesson on communication, wad am i trying to say?
1) i spent my first sem in uni learning about these monkey stuffs like 'effective communication'
2) therefore, i did not spend my first sem in uni learning:
i) cost mangerial accounting
ii) financial management
iii) any other stuff dat i prolly won't be taking till 2 sems later
3) its not my fault i can't help u with wad u don't know, because
4) i really do not know everything (and i wish u wouldn't complain about it)
5) i don't want to admit to being egoistic, but everyone likes to think they are right most of the time, right?
6) i am really really sorry i lost my temper last nite, i know i shouldn't have cos u were really joking.

monday and tuesday was super busy finishing up the ltb final presentation.
so sad..
thats the last lesson of the term!
really had alot of fun doing the ltb projects and presentations for ltb..
kinda like a stressed fun-filled lesson u noe.. haha
hmm..
anyway wed watched a damn power movie..
Step up!!
no shit man.. its damn nice.. it tells a super feel good story.
and there are so many themes inside!
death, rebirth, dreams, hopes, love, everything!
its such a good movie about life..
i can tell you in words how fantabulous it is..
u really need to go and watch this movie..
the dance moves are really surperb..
especially the mixing and fusing of different dances and musics..
the soundtrack is so good..
u can actually imagine urself hip hopping to it as u listen to the tracks on the bus..
yeah..
hip hopping on the bus.. wuhaha

Busy, busier, busierer, busiest, busiester, busiestest

What a busy busy time it has been for the past few days..
spent the whole week trying to work on the comms presentation and study for FA..
worked out the scripts and slides for a ridiculous product to sell,
old newspapers..
wah kao..
super dumb idea.. thanks to stanley..

the upside was that it really turned out funny.. haha..
had feedback saying that it was quite good.. wonder wad grade i am gonna get..
damn nervous when i was doing it man.. 25% of my grade hinges on it..

FA..

FA is a mess for me..
crazy i noe more about biz law den FA..
FA sucks..
oh well.. guess the reading up didn't help much,
took joel's advice on that day itself to look thru some mcqs and figured out how to score some cheap points..

shopped for a nice new green chair to match my new adidas.. (haha wtf rite.. but they onli had white black pink and green.. table's white, black looks out, i alr got a pink phone, so.. yah haha)
happily carted everything home with the help of my dad and the car..
den off to work at nite..
met a super duper stupid lady who called to da bao..
but she said :' item 1, item 2, item 3, item 4, item 5....etc etc.. i will come at 6:30'
who the f noes u wanna da bao.. if u dun say..
tot she wanna reserve table.. and order in advance..
den very stupid.. rushed out the order liao..
send to her car..
she look at the food.. and say..
'u sure this is enough for 6 people?'
wah kao! she order the food enough to feed 10 of me liao lar.. wad 6 people.. unless her 6 people is super sumo wrestler appetitie lar..
after explaining to her it is enough, she didn't look happy.. i mean, if u say for 6 people, and u dun specify the serving size, who are u to complain about there being not enough in the end..
we do our best to adjust accordingly.. and to provide the best.. but if our best is not ur best, i think u should show us ur best and i make sure nxt time my best is bester den ur best..
oh well.. onli for certain things onli lar.. haha.. i sometimes oso double standards one.. haha..
oh well..
dumb customer of the year award goes to her.. (not just dumb, ridiculous, fat, ugly, etc)
went back at nite to start assembling the table..
amazing how they can print an instructional booklet w/o any words.. just pictures and numbers! haha
oh well..
like playing lego lor..
so exciting..
fixed up majority of the table less the keyboard drawer and storage drawer..
realised i needed to hammer some nails into the bottom legs..
and i look see the time.. 1 am!
better sleep and wait for some other day.. haha
now my room is still in a mess..
i need to readjust the poster arrangement on my wall, cos i feel my table shelf will prolly overlap onto jolin..
plus put up the jay chou one dat has been rolled up and waiting to be put up for dunno how long alr..
so many things to do.. haha
den tdy wakes up.. go to sch and meet up for FA presentation.. (FA again...)

could finish up the table tmr morning.. and start working on the posters before assembling the shelf and the chair..
RECONSTRUCTION OF ROOM IN PROGRESS!! (when will i get it done.. haha.. like another big project, cos all the stuff dat i sorted out, has to go into some container or storage area somewhere..)
when i am done, my sis sharing my room should get a nice bedside table for her own personal use.. =)

i have to work harder on my life
cos their lives are meaningful now
